Yay, another theory of Achilles tendinopathy! Jason Fitzgerald of Strength Running suggests in this article that it might be all about the big toe. Apparently the big toe stabilizes the foot and keeps the AT from being twisted “like a wet rag”. Toe exercises, here I come! And luckily myrundoc has a video to help. Soon my nightly exercise routine will be three hours long, and then I will be too tired to ever think of running. Problem solved.
